A member of the House of Representatives from Jigawa State, Gudaji Kazaure, has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to appoint him as head of a task force to kill Boko Haram insurgents.
The 46-year-old said he was a professional hunter who was familiar with all the bushes occupied by terrorists.
His words: “Let the President appoint me. I will delegate a team to go inside the bushes with myself to finish those idiots (terrorists).
“I’m a hunter, I know all these bushes. I’m a professional hunter; I can delegate a team of hunters.
“Let the government give us the army and the police, we will go inside that bush. I will lead it, I will lead.”
Kazaure, a member of the All Progressives Congress, is known for making sensational statements.
In March 2018, he said on the floor of the House that if women were given too much opportunity, they would eventually overthrow men.
His latest statement was in response to the killing of over 100 soldiers last Monday by Boko Haram insurgents in Metele, Borno State.
A faction of the sect known as Islamic State West Africa had attacked the 157 Task Force Battalion in Metele, firing rocket-propelled grenades, leading to the massacre of the soldiers.
